Our dear friend Marwin Smith loves traditional quilt block patterns, and she especially loves the spool block. I mean, she REALLY loves that block. So much so that she took it upon herself to devise an amazing little gizmo that makes it slick and easy to make a perfect spool block, block after block after block. She named it the Perfect Spools Marking Template. And then, she made it even bigger!

The template gives you marking lines for each component of the block, so you get it exactly right every time. You can use small bits of fabric, too, making it a perfect scrappy quilt. Or you can design around a color theme or fabric theme for a more elegant look.
